The elaborate ivory wool tassels of this small Afshar trapping take up nearly twice the surface area as the main square pile panel. This piece was most likely woven as a sort of knee pad or decorative hanging for a camel's leg. The abstract tree drawn sideways in pile is reminiscent to those seen in longer camel neck trappings woven by the Afshar.
