antique ivory ground east caucasian rug with a charming and very unusual design. Probably shirvan. "as found", quite dirty, with scattered wear as shown and some minor edge loss all around. Although dirty i can see an unusually large array of terrific natural colors. Not in great condition but a design I've never seen before and should wash up and be a stunning wall piece. Good age, ca. 1875 or earlier. 3'1" x 4'3"
