Two birds with one rug! Kurdish (?), 19th century. Coltrane-esque riff on an old Caucasian standard. Beefy, floppy handle. Glossy wool. Excellent condition. All organic dyes. Some of the browns oxidized. Some didn't. Barbaric. 55" x 81". (This just in: a wise, wonderful, and well-known collector suggests that this rug might come from Chelaberd.)
