Fragment of English "Opus Anglicanum" Embroidery 13/14 c size 16 x 12 cm. Very fine silk chain stitch and metal thread embroidery on linen gauze. This piece was inserted into one of the arches of a Flemmish 15c Orphrey panel.Reuse of precious embroideries was common in medieval times and later. The metal thread work around the figure appears to be of the same period.
