Rare Sarouk Fereghan Bagface Late 19th century – early 20th century In very good condition with minimal loss on ends of small minor border. Ends secured and reinforced with a supplemental weft. Recently hand washed. Beautiful colors and abrash. Velvety pile. About 225 kpsi. There are some minor motifs that were over-dyed to match the cochineal or madder dyed field. This practice was common in the Arak region, and was probably done when it came off the loom for aesthetic reasons.
