Shahsavan reverse sumac khorjin panel, probably Hashtrud – Miyaneh, third quarter 19th century, 47 x 44 cm; unlike the weaver of Wertime 52, the weaver of this piece has taken many creative liberties with this traditional design including making the centre diamond in some of the hexagons in the form of a shield with a cross in the centre; whether the shield and cross is merely another design or whether it was intended to refer to something, we can only speculate; beautiful natural colours; missing a border but otherwise in good condition with no apparent repairs.
