An exceptionally fine Shirvan prayer rug, woven on silk wefts. a little wear, s tear to left border, tatty around edges, one or two small faded repairs, needs a good wash. The finest of its type I’ve ever seen, with brilliant colours, including a vivid purple. Mid-19th century or before. fresh piece from a private source, never been through an auction!
