An Exceptional Antique 19th century Uzbek Adras Ikat hanging from Bokhara / Bukhara region. It is from the older period of Central Asian Ikat art with silk warped cotton weft and known as Adras Ikat. The weave is exceptionally fine. The design is very unusual. Large motifs that look like pelts or eagles repeat vertically in red on a yellow stem against white . These are interspersed with hanging botehs in green/red and aubergine/ yellow. The visual effect is incredible. The natural colours are gorgeous and contrast beautifully with one another. It has a fantastic lining of Russian cotton print. In great condition and offered at a reasonable price. Size: 195cm x 160cm
