This first quarter 20th century Jaf Kurd #8037 Oriental Rug measures 3’4” x 2’11”. It is a beautifully drawn full pile Jaf Kurd woven with beautiful Jaf Kurd wool which a kiss away from Angora. There are two diamond medallions on an aubergine ground surrounded by parts of a diamond motif with a latch hook design. The major border has octagon shaped flowers on a dark blue ground which is almost black. The minor border in ivory has a meandering design surrounded by five guard borders with an x motif and a major border which covers the top of the rug ala Turkoman Chuval. The rug is full pile.
