Exceptional Mid 19th c. Shir-van Kilim, ca. 1860; 5’1” x 11’11” / 155 x 363 cm. Saturated natural colors, and fluid drawing. Archaic features: extra band width at the ends, and rainbow inclusions at the sides. Field composed of alternating horizontal bands of stepped diamonds and interlocking stepped triangles. Light oxidation of dark olive bands, light wear, and some small areas of fraying at the edges. Remarkably good condition for age 160. Please examine photos carefully.
