An exceptional antique Uzbek Nurata silk suzani fragment (mounted on a canvas) dating to the mid 19th century The fine silk embroidery is intricately flat-stitched. The colours and the natural dyes are fantastic. The beautifully drawn polychrome flower reflect the prowess of central Asian suzani embroidery tradition. It is a flower fragment of a larger suzani. One can only imagine how beautiful the full suzani would have been. It looks beautiful hung on a wall. Size of the frame : 20cm x 20cm (8” x 8").
