Early northwest Persian rug, possibly Kurd bidjar, very rough, with a most unusual field design. i don’t think i have ever seen this repeat pattern as such. The archaic main border seems to fall in the Kurd bidjar category. Overall low pile with scattered wear as shown. Edges not original with border loss and unraveling. Appears to have scattered repiling of oxidized browns. i see one small penny sized hole. All good natural colors. As found, dirty but structurally sound. Interesting study weaving. Good age, ca. 1880 or earlier. 4’4”x 5’
