Antique Caucasian akstafa prayer rug from a New England home. Beautiful ivory ground example with all natural colors and good pile. Lovely purples, greens, light blues and of course the pretty akstafa peach orange. 95% or more good tight medium pile mixed with overall scattered oxidized browns. Very light scattered west and a small crease or two. One or two of the small inner oxidized dark centered mini boteh look to be poorly repiled. Remnant original end flat weave at both ends. The selvages look very good, possibly redone? As found, reasonably clean, but a good wash would make it even more beautiful. Ca. 1875 6’5” x 2’10”
