Three pre-Incan black on red pitcher shaped ceramic vessels. a.d 900 - 1400. From Altiplano region of Bolivia and showing Tiawnaku influence. These ceramics are sometimes referred to as Expansive Tiwanaku or as being from the Mollo Culture. Excellent condition - all three are without breaks or cracks . Largest is 8.5 inches tall. The handle also acts as a drinking spout thru the hollow upright straw-like section with tapered end. This group of ceramics are not well represented in the archaeological record and these three are a good representation of the style in their graphics, vessel form and size variation. a nice little collection for someone with eclectic taste and an interest in pre-conquest Altiplano cultures.
