Antique Hamedan rug, first half of 19th century or even older, 120x72cm. The twin wefting means that the rug is older than usual. Single wefting seems to have originated in the Hamedan prov.- probably in the 2nd quarter of the 19th c. But of course not all villages changed immediately to the new technique.
