Origin and description: Carpet of Caucasian origin, taking in traditional stylized motifs the "boteh" in the central field and a chain of stars in the main border. The "boteh" evokes by its shape a pine cone, a drop of water or the foliage of a cypress. Some see in it Zarathustra's tongue of fire or a tear of Buddha. Age: about 100 years old. Dimensions: 120 cm x 220 cm. Condition: this carpet was longer at the origin. It was cut, probably due to wear, and reconstituted, as can be seen in picture 3. Other areas of the carpet were knotted again. All repairs were done by a professional repairer.
