#7539 Art Deco Chinese Oriental Rug
This circa 1920 Art Deco Chinese Oriental Rug measures 9’0” x 11’9” (274 x 362 cm). It has a navy blue field containing a floral motif consisting of a rockery coming from the lower right corner and side with a big flowering tree and a pagoda. The lower left corner has a floral design coming from the border. In the center of the rug on both sides there is a floral motif and the right side also has a beautifully drawn butterfly. The upper left corner has a pale orange lantern with tassels coming from a flowering tree. The upper right corner has a flowering tree. Alas, no lantern! The rug has a center medallion consisting of a beautifully drawn tree branch with hanging wisteria. All is enclosed with a pale grey border filled with various flower motifs and a big butterfly. There is a low spot directly in the center in the right hand grey border which is visible in the pics. This rug is full pile. It has wool like velvet. It is very beautiful. The ends and sides are complete. It is clean and ready to go. The buyer pays the shipping including insurance.
