Here is an interesting Laki/Kungrat embroidered wall hanging. One of those family treasurers that are easy to over look. What goes unnoticed is the secondary embroidered band at the bottom just above the primary Laki embroidery, this is more of what we would refer to as Kungrat embroidery. It suggests that it was part of an older family treasure, used here in the brides newer dowry art. There other pieces from earlier days as well - even a couple of different fringes, shown in one of my last photos. This is a wonderful piece of old tribal art. If the new Laki embroidery dates to the late 19th. cent. who knows how old the Kungrat embroidery might be. 28" x 28"
