Arraiolos, Portugal, 19th Century embroided rug. 286 x 190 Cm. 9.5 ft. x 6.3 ft. Untill the 19th century the people in Arraiolos used Persian designs like this Heriz design. There are still made Arraiolos rugs today but now in a self developed Portugese style. Very creative and interesting. Some old restaurations, see last photo and thinner spots but overall in a perfect condition for it's age.
