6776 Art Deco Chinese Rug This circa 1910 Mandarin quality Art Deco Chinese rug measures 10’0” x 14’3”. It has a milk chocolate colored field with two pairs of circling cranes in two colors of blue with maroon and pale peach bodies.   The feathers of the birds are worked in two colors with minute differences giving the distinct impression of feathers.  Very clever!  There are six reclining spotted deer in peach to pink with blue antlers. There are floral sprays scattered throughout the field in navy blue, light blue and maroon.  There are four of what appear to me to be ladybugs, two below each pair of cranes. The rug has a very deep Cabernet colored border containing various Chinese icons for happiness, long life and wisdom.  There is a small minor border in blue with flowers and vines in ivory, peach and several shades of red.  This rug is woven using Manchester wool which is the finest wool ever spun.  It feels like velvet.  The rug is essentially mint condition.  The ends and sides are complete. The rug is very thick full pile.  It is clean and ready to go.  The buyer pays the shipping. http://www.antiqueorientalrugs.com/Rchinese1.htm
