Shahsavan khorjin panel, most attribute this weaving to the Khamseh region of northwest Persia, others to the Mianeh-Bijar area, circa 1880, 22" x 18" (55 x 47 cm) (+/-), the principal motifs are the 'eagles' or 'eagle wings', these are displayed as mirror images, very delicate and skillfully executed 'eagle's eye' are included to protect the winged creatures from harm, the all natural colors are brilliant, these include but are not limited to indigo, light blue, green, a chocolate-aubergine and a strong, clear orange-red, the condition is very good; there is a small repair in one corner.
