Very fine Baluch bag face, ne Persia, later 19th cent., with organic dyes of electric blue and orange, a lovely green(slightly oxidized after a hundred years), two shades of brown, and white; high pile with wool like silk and hand-spun; selvedges in good order, as are ends; one inch of moth damage in bottom end(photo #3). Curiously, the weaver sought to emphasize the vertical in this weaving, omitting the lines normally radiating from the central star. a message? Unusual. 33" x 27" (84cm x 70cm)
