Rice cutter, Khymer culture, Cambodia. Horn, aluminum, 11.5" (29.2 cm) high, 20.5" (52 cm) wide. Mid-20th century. The gracefully curved part of the ox horn was used to gather a handful of rice plants and then with a skillful turn of the wrist, the sheaf was cut with the iron blade. The back side of the horn is a bit rough.
