Antique Persian Senneh / Senna 460, Size: 3'5" x 4'6" Origin: Persia, Circa: Mid 19th Century -This lovely, eye-catching antique Oriental rug – a Senneh piece made in Persia some time during the middle years of the nineteenth century – is truly an achievement in rug-making. This grand piece possesses many of the qualities most sought after by collectors of such rugs, and would make a proud addition to any home. A grand hexagonal medallion hovers at the center of the abrashed russet field of this lovely antique Senneh, accompanied only by two vases with flowers, cornerpieces, and triangular lappets along the sides. a series of flowering vases against a pale sand ground comprise the border, picking up and adapting the forms of the field, while priding a framing contrast in color. All in all, this is a piece that is not to be missed. Its intricate design and stunning composition make it not only a highly desirable piece, but a genuine work of art.
