Full length Turkish woman's robe with open sleeves. Beautiful deep purple silk velvet with gold metal thread using couching style decoration. i am guessing that it was made before the First World War. It is in very good shape with no holes or tears with just minor fraying in several places. The sleeves are decorated with covered buttons and one button is missing. It has a lining which has been patched in certain places. It is aesthetically very elegant and was probably worn by a very wealthy and aristocratic woman.
