RARE, ANTIQUE BELOUCH PILLOW FACE. I found this piece in Peshawar and there is no doubt that it has been used as a pillow or cushion rather than a storage bag. Because it has been in use it is worn around the edges although decent parts of the original kel:ms remain. The wool is lustrous and the colours deep and intense. I have seen one other Belouch piece - which was a small pr@yer rug - with these colours and the same weave. Late 19th / early 20th century. Reference 296. 75 x 45cms. €350.
