Old South Persian bagface with a good design featuring an unusual use of white cotton pile and excellent saturated colors. Overall good thick medium length pile with a spot of very slight center wear. Highest quality lustrous wool. Bottom 5" of the weaving uses a white cotton replacong the ivory wool in the top part of the piece. The bottom 2 "bird" motifs are split partially ivory wool and partially white cotton. No tears, no holes, no repairs. Some original selvage. Ends show minor loss. Reasonably clean. Good age. A 19th c. little jewel. 18" x 26"
