Kurdish ( Saj Bulaq? ) shrub rug with oscillating lattices radiating from rosettes framing 5 varieties of flowering plants stemming from pots.
Exceptional borders with what is conservatively, in my opinion, an early 19th century adaptation of a 17th century Safavid single vegetal scroll. (substitute the characteristic palmettes of the later with stemmed flowers, allow for time and tribalization and voila!)Nice white minor borders too. i like the rosey color palette of this piece very much and the wool is great. One last tidbit, this is a directional piece which is woven ''upside-down''. 137x201cm (4'6''x6'8'')
