Antique Mexican Serape -Wool on Linen -74" by 38" This is a Saltillo style serape where the diamond center is an aggregate of four diamonds on a spot-repeat field with zigzag borders. The condition is very good, but it does have some issues: part of the linen fringe is missing (photos 7 and 8) There is a one inch tear on the outer zigzag border (photo 9) and there are several very small places where the warp threads are visible (photos 10, 11 and 12). The background is a bit mottled with some light areas, i think with a proper cleaning this will not be an issue.
